Meet the Staff

Kim Greensmith – Chief Executive Officer

I am a qualified social worker and helped set up Nelson's Journey 11 years ago as I felt passionately about the need to support bereaved children in Norfolk. My own two adoptive daughters experienced the death of their birth mother when they were 2 and 4 years old and therefore I have personal experience of the challenges faced by bereaved children and their parents.

Debbie Winteringham – Child Bereavement Services Manager

I joined Nelson’s Journey in February 2009. I have many years experience of working with children and families in a range of services, more recently with prisoners and their families where the children often express feelings of loss. I have gained an understanding of child bereavement through my work and through personal experience and recognise the importance of the work.

Kit Cecconi – Child Bereavement Support Worker

I first became involved with Nelson’s Journey in mid-2005, after meeting a dedicated volunteer through my previous work within Norfolk Children’s Services. In January 2007 I became the charity’s Child Bereavement Support Worker, making assessment visits and attending the weekend camps. This makes me the first face many children and families see when receiving support from Nelson’s Journey.

Sophie Berry – Funding Officer

I joined Nelson’s Journey in November 2005 after first volunteering on the therapeutic weekends for bereaved children. I am a full time fundraiser and have the challenge of raising enough money to ensure we can keep operating. I still volunteer for the charity and have also taken part in a skydive to raise money. In essence, I love working and volunteering for Nelson’s Journey!

Kim Chase – Office Manager

I joined Nelson’s Journey in January 2009 and am responsible for the smooth running of our office and preparing for the camps. If you get in touch with us I’m usually the first point of contact, and always happy to help!
