I joined Nelson’s Journey in February 2009. I have many years experience of working with children and families in a range of services, more recently with prisoners and their families where the children often express feelings of loss. I have gained an understanding of child bereavement through my work and through personal experience and recognise the importance of the work.
Lorna Vyse – Child Bereavement Services Manager
I joined Nelson's Journey as a member of staff in March 2011 having been a volunteer for over four years. My role includes comprehensive assessments of children’s bereavement needs, 1:1 therapeutic support and helping run the therapeutic residential weekends for children and young people.
Sophie Berry – Fundraising and Marketing Officer
I joined Nelson’s Journey in November 2005 after first volunteering on the therapeutic weekends for bereaved children. I am a full time fundraiser and have the challenge of raising enough money to ensure we can keep operating. I still volunteer for the charity and have also taken part in a skydive to raise money. In essence, I love working and volunteering for Nelson’s Journey!
Kim Chase – Office Manager
I joined Nelson’s Journey in January 2009 and am responsible for the smooth running of our office and preparing for the camps. If you get in touch with us I’m usually the first point of contact, and always happy to help!
Nicola Gibson – Fundraising and Marketing Officer
Nicola joined Nelson's Journey in March 2011 to replace Sophie whilst she is on maternity leave. She is a marketing professional with over 8 years experience in both the not for profit, private and public sectors. Nicola has recently returned from working in South East Asia where she gained experience of supporting and gaining funding for voluntary organisations.
