Mount Everest in Norfolk? Surely Not!
As
part of their Citizenship Project, two young men, Jacob and George will
be undertaking a sponsored climb of Mount Everest in Norfolk on Sunday
9th December. Jacob and George will climb Beeston Bump in
Sheringham 140 times and between them reach the total height of Mouth
Everest. Jacob and George plan to raise over £100 for
Nelson's Journey, if you would like to sponsor them for this
imaginative event please click on the following link...

Jacob and George have set a target of raising £500 so please help
them out! All money raised will go towards supporting
bereaved children and young people living in Norfolk.
Kings Lynn FM - Don't Bin It... Bag It!
KLFM, the West
Norfolk edition of the EDP and Love2Recycle have all joined forces to
promote mobile phone recycling. Four charities have been
nominated to potentially benefit from this campaign but the public need
to vote for who they want to win.
Each mobile phone can earn up to £10 and 50,000 bags have been
printed, this means the chosen charity could get up to
£500,000. If Nelson's Journey received that amount of money
we could purchase our own office accommodation and expand the service
we are able to offer bereaved children, young people and their
families.
Visit http://www.klfm967.co.uk/bagit.html
and vote for the charity you would like to win, obviously we would like
you to vote for us!!

Lot 55 at The Arts Centre
On Saturday
8th September 2007 local band Lot 55 and comedian Karl Minns provided a
wonderful evening of entertainment whilst raising money for Nelson's
Journey. All those that attended were treated to excellent music
and hearty laughs in between. We raised around £1,000 for
Nelson's Journey which is enough money to take one child on a
therapeutic residential weekend.

Sponsored Walk -
Somerleyton Hall
On Sunday 20th May 2007 a number of
people took part in an extremely sunny sponsored walk around the
beautiful estate of Somerleyton Hall. Nelson's Journey staff,
volunteer and families that have used our service took part and helped
to raise £1,140. Those that stuck around afterwards also
got to enjoy an afternoon full of fun activities in the gardens of
Somerleyton Hall.

TANDEM SKYDIVING EVENT
In July 2006 Nelson's Journey encouraged
25 people including Sophie
Browne (our Fundraising Officer) to jump out of an aeroplane at
10,500ft with little more than an instructor and a parachute for
safety. All landed safely and many went back to do it again at a
later
date! We raised £5,500 from the event and hope to do the
same again in
the future.
